lukes started like this and spread after 4 days of a few spots on his back, he had them for 3 weeks! all over, very very bad case.
Still has scaring from them, would hate to think what the scaring would be like if he had picked them.! the good thing is he may not touch them, luke didn't touch his. A friend told me to cover them with plasters to discourage picking , i didn't think this was a good idea as they need air to dry up!
Hope they get better and heal up quick

my middle boy just had them and day two after the spots came out seemed to be the worst for him... i know emmas baby got them very young too and someone else i know their newborn got them.

THAT has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard! DS2 got them when he was 11 weeks old, stinking horrible case it has to be said but he wasn't overly bothered by them and not 'ill'.........not a thing wrong with his immune system, in fact he's rarely sick and he certainly wasn't 'undernourished'. LOL Ooh and he got them from DS1 who had like SIX spots, and almost all of them were on his back so just because they get them doesn't mean they are destined to be covered head to foot in spots; he had been exposed to CP on at least four previous occasions though without getting them. My friend's DD3 got them when she was 8ish weeks (from memory) old and she was the chunkiest baby in the world and not 'sickly'. hehehehehe
I hope they don't bother him too much, though with the heat it might make him a bit more uncomfortable. ooh and from first glance I was thinking CP too, even before the Dr 'confirmed' it.

Thanks Bizzy. I have to say yesterday was the worse so far. He is still grizzly and clingy but not as bad as the last 2 days. The spots are still making their way over his body and there is one on his eyelid now.
Hmm yeah mumtooboys its interesting isnt it. Thats what the ED Dr and GP both said to us

ouch chicken pox suck. Zavier had them when he came home from hospital was about 2 months old. Still has a few scars which is unfortunate but that's life.
Hope your little man is starting to feel better!!

Is it normal for the blisters when they burst to go a darker colour on the inside of the scab? He also has some around his private parts, can they get infected cos of the area??

They can so keep an eye on them......A has a pox scar on his bottom, I presume it's because that area is being 'rubbed' by the nappy. If they get really red and/or look inflamed then get him back to the Dr, they'll probably want to put him on antibiotics as a precaution; well they did with A but then he was barely 3 months old at the time. He had about 3 'dodgy' looking spots, but he never had a fever or went off his food or anything.
Luckily they stayed out of his mouth and eyes, but he did have one spot just under his left eye. I reckon he had at least 100 spots by the time they had all popped up.
