Topic: Pea Pods Questions :) Posted: 20 April 2011 at 2:32pm |
Hello :)
I've recently been given a heap of Pea Pods (new), I just had a few questions that if anyone has used them before could help answer that would be great!
1) do the colours run at all when you wash them for the first time?
2) how many times should I wash them before use (to make them absorbant)
3) do you wash the outer lots aswell? or just the bamboo absorbant piece?
4) do you have to dry them between each wash? or can you just chuck them back in the wash again?
Thanks heaps!

The colours didn't run in mine. I think I only washed them once...

I only washed mine once, I do think they did run for a few washes, but that was only with my white prefolds so it didn't matter

We have found with nappies in general just soaking the absorbant bit in a bucket of plain cold water for 24 hours helps with the absorbancy thing, then just chuck through the wash as normal.

We have been using Pea Pods almost solidly for 7 months now and they have been great for DS. DH insisted that we wash them 3 times- outers and inners along with night boosters. I dont remember if we dried them between washes, but certainly a hang on the line in the sunshine wouldnt hurt!

Hehe hey ereynolds - it's me Beth :P What sunshine? haha
I just washed them and GEEZ the fluff from the inserts is EVERYWHERE!! but they look fluffier already, I might do the inserts a couple more times, without powder or anything, but now the outers are cleaned once I think it should be ok...
Thanks for your help!
Oh, and none of them ran.. yay!
