Topic: Help....TMI !! Posted: 06 April 2011 at 9:13pm |
Hi Ladies
Im in need of some advice. I am on the pill and have been for a few years now, i was due to get my period and accidentally missed a couple of the pills before the sugar ones which i take when i get my period. I then stopped my period by taking the next pills in the next packet to stop it, however for some reason i still got my period even tho i wasnt taking the sugar pills, i was still taking the other ones, it's been about a week now and i have continuously been taking my pills at the right time and i still seem to be getting this brown stuff when i go to the toilet, i took my pill today a couple of hours late as i was busy and because of that it seems that the brown stuff has got a tinge of red in it, it dosnt seem to be completly going away. Has anyone had this ? It's never happened before to me.

I had this the other day but just assumed it was a weak period or something as it was my first 'period' since having DD. I'd stopped BFing 2wks prior. Will be interesting to see what others say

When I was on the combined bcp prior to having DD, if I skipped a couple of pills close to the sugar pills, then my period would come early (although I would continue on with the sugar pills so it would be a normal period), after all the sugar pills really dont do anything.
Perhaps thats whats happened but that starting on the next cycle of pills has made your body think 'WTF am I meant to do?'
Im really just guessing though

It sounds like your body is confused, when you muck your pills up it doesnt know what to do. Just carry on taking them everyday at the same time and give it another cycle and see if it comes right, if not just have a chat with your Dr, you may need a different pill.
I had constant brown bleeding for 6 months while I was on depo So I stopped having it, and then I started getting AF eery 2 weeks for a few months, then it came right.

I think, for some people, there might be only so long you can go skipping the sugar pills before you end up with break through bleeding. If it were me I would either do what Sheza said above, or stop taking it completely for a month or so, and start again on another cycle just like you were starting it all over again.

I used to take the pill continuously sometimes as well to stop my period from coming and every so often had bleeding like you're describing. I think it's the body saying "don't mess with me"

I did this once and I bled on and off for the whole month til what would have been the end of my next period, and then I was right again. Id imagine this would happen if you take the pill or not for the next month - probably easier to stay on it, so you are protected and at least know where you are in your cycle - Id use other protection for ten days to be safe

I used to get the exact same thing from time to time if I played around with if/when I took the sugar pills. It always came right the next month though.

I have skipped my period a couple of times and whenever I do that the next month no AF again whoop whoop still has me stressing abit sometimes though.
I remember when I was originally prescribed BCP that my Dr told me if I happened to miss a pill in the week leading up to AF arriving (week before sugar pills) to carry on taking the hormone pill and that through out the month you may get some spotting. Chuck some panty (cringe hate that word) liners in to stay fresh and next month you may have a slightly heavier AF then normal but it should just be normal

sounds like a form of breakthrough bleeding, they say if you skip the sugar pills and caryy on to the next month you can get bleeding
Just keep taking your blue pills. TBH in the past when ive had that problem ive popped a couple of blue pills to get a stronger dose and put an end to it.
Not sure if you're supposed to do that but i did and it didnt seem to do any harm, might make ya a bit nauseas

Yeah I messed up taking my pill once and forgot quite a few of them and I had bleeding for about a month! I went to the doctor about it and she said it was probably just breakthrough bleeding as my body got so confused. In time it'll come right if you keep taking it properly from now on
