I had my new cellphone delievered to my work as we open at 7 and theres always someone there during the day to take a package for me, more so than at home and I got into work to find my new, expensive phone had been delivered at 630am and just left on the doorstep of my work!!!
I was not impressed, I dont know why the sending company didnt make it need signing for but the sign outside work said we open at 7am, you'd think they could come back next time they went past
6am just this morning at our house. Today it was just left at the door - they didn't actually knock but I heard the van doors open and close and heavy footsteps on the deck.
Last week though at a similar time they wanted a signature and I was there in my nightie!
My DH used to be a courier (Post Haste) and he would only knock on a door before about 7.30am if a light was on inside. If it was a secure area he would leave a package at the front door before then though.
The couriers in my area are much the same - don't knock early unless lights are on. In fact, even when they do knock, they don't actually wait long enough for someone to answer the door, which can be quite frustrating.
