This is going to sound a bit silly but does it mess with their heads?

Lol, it will mess with their sleeping pattern. www.thesleepstore.co.nz has great info on how to 'prepare' them for it and ideas on how to change their routine over a few days beforehand to make it easier to deal with

Not sure what happens, I am pretty sure it goes forward?
DD was maybe less than 6 weeks old I think this time last year and we didn't notice any change! But roll on summer starting day light savings and 6.30/7am wake ups became 5am wake ups - 6am wake ups lol but after maybe a month or less she changed it and decided to sleep until 7.30-8am and has been doing that since maybe Dec/January?!

We are going into 'fall' so we Fall back
no Idea on the baby front, but I know it messes with the dogs & their feeding times (well when they think they are going to be fed!), so no doubt will do to babies as well - Good Luck!

I do with the dog! I was actually hopefully as DS doesnt seem capable of staying up past 5 - thats bedtime as far as he is concerned and can't be swayed from it! Was hoping that would move back to 6 but now you're saying its going to move foward to 4? POO!

Nope, it's going to go back?? Hence why it gets darker earlier...? And goes forward for summer hence it getting darker later...
You may not even notice a change but you may, guess you'll have to wait and see!

Clocks go back, so usually bedtime becomes an hour earlier and wake time is an hour earlier. A good idea is to start now with pushing everything later by 15mins each week or even day if they can cope.
I've always had a problem with DD and daylight savings, last winter I could not for the life of me make her stay up any later than 6/6:30pm. Hopefully now she's a bit older it may be easier. I am lucky though that she sleeps 12 hours+ at night. Have to admit, it's quite nice having her go to bed so early. We have to get up at 6:30am anyway.

oh right i see what i did there - i thought fall back so time would go from 1 - 2, back being later in my head. Duh. I blame baby brain...i can still use that excuse right?
Might start working on it, DS put himself out for the night at 3 (!?) and despite me waking him at 5 for food and bath etc resisted the process so had a very early bedtime hence me awake and online at 3am!

I can see that pushing bedtime back will be easy enough - I'm not sure how I'm going to push waketime back though! Ah well, I'm just going to play it by ear, see what happens
