Hi Girls

Just wondering if anyone else had a itchy vagina after birth ? I gave birth to our son on the 27th april and had to have him delivered by vontouse and also i had to get cut down there and stitches, for awhile my stitches itched like mad but since the last two days they seems to have calmed down abit, but now my vagina is itchy, it get's unbearable at times Just wondering if anyone else had this aswell and what did you do to take the itch away ? ?

You might have an infection or thrush or something like that.

I am wondering about infection as well. Or else if you had an internal tear that needed stitching that could be causing the itchiness as well? I'd get your midwife to check it out hun.
If it's thrush canesten cream will work like magic for the itch, if it's the stitches a bath with baking soda or epsom salts could help.

I was going to suggest thrush as well...

Or you could have what I had... I got stitches and the scar tissue covered some up that hadn't dissolved and until they dissolved it was a scratchy itchy feeling!

Can you ask you mw to have a look? Or pop off to the doctors/nurse to get it checked?

I didn't get mine checked until the 6 week check and omg I was going loopy!

Yeah ill get the midwife to have a check when she comes on Monday, i was thinking would it hurt if i was to go and get some thrush cream anyway and give it a try ? It wouldnt affect anything ? I had antibotics in labour as my waters were broken for more then 18 hours, but that was the only ones i had

My sis  just had a bub on 12 april, lots of stitches and was on AB's in hospital.  She got thrush, was told to use thrush (not the oral tablets) cream but not to use the applicator.
