hi,
we have a old crappy dishwasher that doesn't work well, so am looking at getting a new one, and are wondering weather dish drawers or the normal dishwasher are better and why? any opinions appreciated! thanks

A Bosch SMS63M08AU is the one and only dishwasher that my heart aches for. It came out top at Consumer. I got a quote for this one for $1569, which is the cheapest I've heard of.
I have totally gone off the idea for a dishdrawer OR a f&p dishwasher as I've seen too many broken down. I really appreciate reliable things.
Some people love F&P dishdrawers, and yes they look cool, but price is too steep for something potentially unreliable.

I have a double dishdrawer, and had a single in my previous flat. I love them. The best thing is that the drawers roll out, so you don't have to bend over as far to load or unload, at least for the top drawer (a real bonus at 36w preg). The other good thing, is when there are only two of you, you can effectively do half sized loads every day (just one drawer) rather than either waiting a couple of days until the dishwasher is full, or running it half empty.

The only problem I've had is when my BIL stacked it badly and the lid didn't seal properly and it flooded slightly, but that was a minor issue, and caused by operator error.

My uncle has a F&P dishdrawers and he loves them, its good for him because he only uses the top drawer as it is only him and doesnt fill it all the time. DF parents have a F&P dishwasher and find it perfect for them as they fill it every day, sometimes twice a day. It comes down to personal preference and practicality. We are looking at buying a dishwasher ourselves as we would fill it everyday as DF is lazy at rinsing and reusing lol.

I have double dishdrawers in my other house which we bought secondhand off TradeMe - $300. Never had any issues with them whatsoever and loved that we could fill either one or two drawers depending how many dishes we had. In this house I have a half size Baumatic and it's fantastic - still does a 12 place setting but it's set out different to your usual dishwasher so it's about half the width of a normal one.

We have a dishdrawer and it was fine when there were four of us but with six I don't think it is ideal. We are going to replace with a full size dishwasher

We have a dish drawer in our new place, and I don't think it washes as well as our old full size LG one.
