Or Barnardos...

I have been thinking about this for a while, and will probably go in there to talk to them properly, but thought I would ask here as well!

It says you do your training through them- how does that work in terms of finding employment first off? Would I just work with a family who's happy to have someone who isn't yet qualified?

I don't have much experience as I didn't have younger brothers, sisters or cousins to look after. I would really love to do this and get trained, but I just don't know what opportunities there would be for someone like me when starting?

TIA for any help

Yes you can definitely start before you've done training, you do training while you're working. And from my experience it shouldn't be too much of a problem finding you families before you've trained. If you are keen, good with children, honest etc, and click well with the families that is more important than having training done IMO. And you can let them and the families know that you are going to start the training.
Oh and you could always start doing the books while you're waiting for them to find you some suitable families Then everyone will know you are serious about doing the study too!

Good luck!

There is a few childcare companies around. Go meet with them all & see which one gives you the best support.

I noticed on the Porse window they have childcare vacancies. Check out what sort of playgroups they run etc, who pays for resources, what items they'll give you when you look after a child, ie pram, double pram, cot, highchairs etc.

Training could be something to do with doing ECE papers.
