A friend was thinking about getting one, I think its a pre pay power meter.

I was wondering if anyone has used this & is it cheaper or better.

Always looking at ways of saving lol

i dont know if it is cheaper - it makes you take notice of what you are spending more though. we had one in the rental and i hated it. i was constantly obsessing about how much power we had left and if they were going to cut me off.

I thought it might be cheaper since you pay in advance.

We had one flatting and i loved it, cut down on all that mystery around the power bill. I don't know if they're cheaper but they make budgeting easier, especially after bit when you know how many days a certain top up should last you.

I think we ran out of credit once and we just had a candle night. It was fun. As adults sharing a house. As a family with kids, a candle night might not be the ideal i guess.

Ours was just in the power box on the outside, that was a few years ago when i was in uni though, maybe they've become a bit more sophisticated since then!
