Is anyone else having issues with pumpkin patch clothing adjustable waists? I returned 2 pairs of pants just after christmas, one pair had been washed and the elastic had frayed quite badly straight away, the other pair had the same problem but had worn a bit more. I brought 2 pairs the other day, just took the tags off to wash them and I was adjusting the waist and on one of the pairs one of the buttons popped off, I noticed the elastic has started to fray at the ends(just before it joins the pants if that makes sense) and the other pair has frayed right down the middle where the button holes are after I adjusted it. Neither pair has been washed yet, only thing I did was adjust the waist. This seems really poor quality to me and for it to happen on 4 pairs of pants is really shocking. Is anyone else having the same problem or am I just getting the bad pants?

Its really annoyed me.

I wonder whether they've changed suppliers or something? The only adjustable waists from Pumpkin Patch we have at the moment are second hand so would be quite a bit older. They seem to be securely sewn.

Are you taking the new pants back? That would really annoy me too!

Funny you mention it! I got a pair of PP shorts out of the washing maching this morning and there was a long thread of fraying elastic coming from the adjustable waist. He's only had the shorts this season so it's not like they're old, and he has them in a rotation with a lot of other pairs...
I've also noticed that they've changed the cut of the shorts so they don't cover a cloth bum very well anymore. DS still fits a pair of 6-12mth shorts from last season, but didn't fit the 18mth shorts from this season, I had to get 2yr size!!

Almost everything we had from Pumpkin Patch needed to have the buttons sewn back on. Pants, cardies and shirts. I would take them back and get a refund.

Not clothing for kids but I returned and got swopped a maternity top that Mum had given me for Xmas, had only worn it a few times too so I was peeved, but they happily exchanged it for me.

I'm definately returning then.

Just wanted to check I wasn't the only one having problems. Didn't have any problems so maybe it is a change of supplier.

I was told that about 12-18 months ago they changed their supplier (Asian sweatshop type factories) and it all went down hill very quickly. I was told by an ex manager who left not long after the change, she said the stress of the shop increased 10 fold and she didn't feel comfortable selling less than adequate clothes at a higher price (they were hiked around this time) to people who were always used to great quality. I have seen a massive difference in quality since buying a few things when pregnant with DS (2 yrs ago) to looking at their current stuff. Such a shame!

Its really sad I used to be a total PP addict, but now I mostly get DD osh kosh stuff which is (a wee bit) cheaper but seems way better quality. PP just isnt cutting it anymore and theyre way too expensive for the quality. Now it makes sense as to why

I only ever buy it when it's on a really good special, like their end of season ones. Would never pay full price!

I have noticed their quality slip badly, iv been shopping there for 7yrs now and in that time iv seen them go from great clothes that was almost garenteed to last to clothes that fade in the wash and buttons that dont last 1 use, i genrally dont buy their clothes til they are on sale. but i still expect quality when they are such a price. I havent really shopped there since my last baby was a few months old coz i noticed the domes on an aio were tearing away from the fabric and it wasnt one button it was all of them. and i heard others comment about the quality lacking so just stopped going there.

Returned the clothes today and complained to then. Have to admit that they didn't seem surprised to have clothes returned.

Also rang pumpkin patch and complained, figured that way their quality control team should hopefully find out.
