Flissy  I could have written your post 4 months ago too!!!! I'm sure you are doing a wonderful job and ditto to all the wonderful advice everyone else has said. I can't really add anything to it. I used to stress majorly when dd woke early from her day sleeps, but then I started putting her in the buggy and going for a walk. She would always drop off to sleep again ( I could tell she needed more sleep but just couldn't get herself back to sleep and patting/shushing/rocking didn't work ) Sometimes I only got to the mailbox and she would be asleep so I would go back inside and let her sleep in the buggy in the lounge. It helped me relax when I had a bit of a back-up plan if the sleeps didn't go well.

Anyway, 4 months on things definately get sooo much easier.

Haven't read everyone's responses but just wanted to give you
Do NOT stress about routine and habits at a month old! I did too, and I know when I have my next baby I will be so much more relaxed. I also fed my son to sleep every sleep for a few months, and when he was ready to go to sleep by himself he did! It was no problem getting out of that 'habit'. We also had a phase where he slept in the moby wrap every afternoon, again - when he was ready to sleep better in his bed he did. Whatever gets them to sleep when they are tiny is a good thing.

Take it easy, be kind to yourself I'm sure you're doing a wonderful job
