I dont really have much expectations I have things like,
staying at home vs working I dont think everyone should thats just what I expect from myself. It was always important for me to be home with my children or DH doesnt have to be me as long as it was one of us, as long as they are not in school, my children have done 2days of preschool from 3.5yrs ds3 has started earlier coz he wanted to. until my oldest was 3.5yrs I had all 3 with me I just didnt get much done as supermarkets dont have trolleys for 2 pre schoolers and a baby and when you have that many mouths to shop for a capsule in the trolley just means you cant buy enough.

when I had my 1st baby I was very pro breastfeeding then I had ds1 lol and found its not always that simple and only bfed him for 8-12wks. though I did bfed ds2 til 16mths. im still pro bfing but im certainly not anti ffing.

Rorylex - I too have always been pro being a SAHM even well before DD was with us but I went back to work this year and DH took time off to be a SAHD which was great. and i was fine with it as DD was still at home even tho not with me We wanted to start ttc for another baby and thought it would take a while haha first go I got pregnant DH went into a mild panic and got a job so we are now both working and DD is in daycare  She loves it but I hate it! I dont like being a working mother, its not for me I dont like how busy our lives have come and for what? Anyway a bit off topic but I feel good getting it off my chest hehe thanks ladies

Nathansmummy here - can't remember my old login!

I'm bumping this topic because I am FINALLY writing this article and presenting it to a whole lot of community agencies and health professionals in the ante-natal/post-natal field.

Summarising some of the issues you've raised, it sounds to me like you have had expectations on yourself or from others around:

- Breastfeeding vs. Formula Feeding
- Housework & Meal preparation - keeping a clean & tidy home to a certain standard and preparing all the meals etc.
- Working vs. Staying at home

Would that cover most of the issues?

Secondly, for those of you that have expectations on yourself (and have said you weren't getting pressure from others) - where did those expectations come from? From watching other people, from values you developed growing up?
