Yup, it's through SIT. I've emailed the course facilitator already and she seems nice. She was able to recommend which papers to do when - very helpful! I would definitely say do as much as you can before baby arrives because, personally, when Chloe was newborn, I would never have been able to handle study. I'm sure there are some supermums out there who can do it though.

How unlucky about the early childhood thing! I'm sure you'll get a chance to go back to it at some point though. We just have to be creative when we have babies.

Oh neat! its good to know someone else who is doing the same thing I want to do! Are you planning on getting studylink to pay for the course materials or just will pay it yourself? I personally will use studylink if I can as the course materials seem quite a lot for us at the moment.

This is what I *was* going to be studying too but am not just doing the full time course with another place not by correspondence! *sigh* DP didn't want me sitting on my butt like this year and felt if I did correspondence I would just leave it to the last minute and get distracted and not work, he also said if I did correspondence he expected me to work too! Pfft, men.

Stink, Nic!

Stephi, I think I'm just going to pay for mine. I've got some money saved up so I'd rather not have to deal with StudyLink if I don't have to!

with a newborn - really easy. when they get a bit older and need more it gets a wee bit harder. with 2 really young it gets harder still but totally acheivable. i have quite laid back kids though #2 is a horrific sleeper, #1 wasnt too bad but certainly wasnt sleeping through the night til 6-9 months so he wasnt one of those wonder babies. i deal with sleep deprivation well.

best peice of advice though. get rid of your tv. sounds stupid but we dont have one and i dont really waste much time. me and DH spend heaps of good time together, the kids are too young anyway and dont even know they exist and i dont sit down in front of it at the end of the night. i do what needs doing round the house and sit down to study then toddle off to bed. we have laptops so can still watch dvds or download from the website so its not like we missing out. i just found i wasted way less time, and when time has to be prioritised well its a real easy fix to make sure you dont waste it ;)

dont beat yoiurslef up bout small things either. we are a cloth nappy, fresh food family but if i had exams or anything the kids often ended up with jar food or disposables and TBH i didnt care one bit, lol.

I finished off some studies with a newborn colic baby and it was a nightmare. It would be ok if you had a good sleeper I guess. I then retrained with a 4yo and found it challenging but much easier. At least when they go to bed at 7pm they are pretty well guaranteed to be down for the night by then, and you can use kindy for study times during the day and tack on play dates. Its also way easier to get someone to look after a 4yo when exams come around.
