Hi all,
I'm posting this on behalf of Utrecht University in the Netherlands which is conducting a survey on the transition into parenthood. (It's a fascinating topic alright! Have you read the article "Light My Fire" on p.30 of the current autumn issue?)
Anyway, if you're interested in sharing your thoughts everything is explained below.
-------
Dear soon-to-be-parents,
The department of Psychology of the Utrecht University, Netherlands, one of the highest ranked departments worldwide, is conducting research on the changes that take place in the relationship between new parents after their first child is born. We are currently looking for couples expecting their first child, who wish to participate!
Why study the relationship of parents? The parent’s relationship is important because it is one of the strongest influences on the development of the child. The goal of the study Parenthood & Relationship is therefore to understand what makes becoming parents together easier or harder, in order to be able to offer parents better help in the future if necessary.
What does it mean to participate?
It’s very simple: you and your partner will be asked to fill in an online questionnaire 4 times (once every 5 months). The online questionnaires take about 20 minutes to complete. For more information or to register, go to the website
Parenthood Study
Prizes A lottery will be drawn among the participants who complete this study. The prizes vary from 300$ to 50$. You can also receive the results of this study if you are interested
Your participation will not take much of your time, but will mean a lot for this study! If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me at H.terKuile@uu.nl.
Thank you in advance,
MSc. Hagar ter Kuile
