Topic: Is it me or is Christmas starting earlier Posted: 13 November 2010 at 4:53pm |
So I was watching TV the other night and realised all the ads were Christmas ads and it just seems earlier than usual.
Anyway so this got me to thinking about xmas presents and I am stuck for ideas, so what is your 2 year olds favorite gift??

i thought this year has been quite reasonable compared to the usual september and october 'OMG XMAS IS ONLY 3 MONTHS AWAY'
but yeah is ridiculous how early they start with the radio and ads n all that

The malls seem crazier this year than other years! Everyone seems more in a rush

As you are from UK Fi, i am surprised you have forgotten how xmas starts in August there!
We are probably getting Catriona a balance bike and/or blackboard/paint easel (depending on costs!)

Just wanted to say Susiec that my DD plays with her blackboard so much. I gave up on paint it was too messy but she writes on the blackboard everyday. Its great for teaching stuff too, we teach her her shapes etc.

I think it's later too. I can't wait til december though. I turn into a person with considerable disposable income so i can buy my presents.

I actually thought it had started a bit later this year too! Though I don't mind at all, I'm hanging out for 1st December to put the tree and decorations up. Christmas shopping is done but I'm looking forward to wrapping all the presents!

Yeah I didn't think it was so bad this year. It seemed to start up after Halloween, which is 'only' 2 months out from Xmas.
Ooh the Mr Potatohead is a great idea, my kids love theirs. Also Thomas trains or any kind of 've-ki-kool' (vehicle ). My MIL bought Ollie a truck that he can take apart and he gets hours of entertainment from it (though he may have been closer to 3 when he got that).

I don't think the advertising has been as bad this year.
A few favorites this year are two barbies and a car, and the plastic play food and a learning computer.

I was shocked when our local shopping centre started putting up their decorations. I thought that was early but then maybe I'm out of touch lol

I thought it started later too. Normally Xmas stuff is out when halloween is on. I'm like FFS my bday is the 2nd Nov can't you wait until AFTER then lol.
I did get a surprise when I walked through the mall the other day and saw decorations but that was because I hadn't actually been to the mall for awhile lol
