useless.

I KNOW I KNOW you shouldn't compare yourself to other people when you are pregnant, but I am.

Yesterday I was sooooo tired and could barely get off the couch.
Today I still feel rough, and am feeling dizzy if I stand up and a bit .
Rang MW who told me to take it easy and give myself a break.
My dad died when I was 16 weeks and she wondered if some of that stress is catching up with me too- I only had a week off work.
MW also suggested I try and reduce my work hours.
.
Problem is, my boss will probably be fine with reducing hours, but she is a super- capable woman who has 2 kids and worked right up until their due dates and then only had 6 weeks off before going back to work and I feel a bit inadequate if I ask for more time off. (am having not quite 4 months maternity leave).
Also- we really need the money so less money will still = stress for me.

I also see pregnant working friends who seem to be coping just fine with everything and I just feel a bit... like I am being precious, and thats not me at all.

At about 22 weeks I was told I should start thinking of either going part time or finishing all together, as I was tired, weak, dizzy at times and and hard out emotional...like crying to and from work.
My boss wouldn't have understood either as she doesn't have children and didn't see why I had to leave work early one day as hadn't felt baby for like 3 days...
Anyway, I pushed through to 33 weeks, mainly for money reasons and left then.

I;m a teacher, so had 2 weeks holidays between 24-26 weeks pregnany...which helped heaps.

So my suggestion would be to not feel useless or compare yourself to 'miracle worker boss' and reduce those hours. Or take a week off and refresh yourself. The most important thing is for you to take care of yourself and baby and not worry what other people think.

Oh and the ladies at work use to always say how they worked right up until they popped....that annoyed me!

I know, thanks KateP.

Its hard not to notice other peoples opinions though- esp when everyone seems to have one, and not always a good one!

I am definitely taking it easy today (always have mon off) and will see how I go.

I think I just needed reminding that it is OK to not be superwoman and that I am normal.

TBH - I was one of those "super woman" types in my first preg e.g worked until the day before I had him, was working 12 hr days 4 days a week but working 6 days etc. I thought that you just had to harden up and get on with it. Admittedly I didn't have MS, felt 100% fine and wasn't tired but in the end it caught up on me and ended up being induced with PE.

I honestly believe that I should have finished work at about 36 weeks and I would have avoided the PE (although didn't really mind having the preg shortened by 2 weeks ). I think that ll those "super woman" people out there would think the same when they looked back on it so NEVER feel inferior or incapable!

I am finishing at 32 weeks this time and almost feel guilty about it but know that in the end its what is best for me and my baby not what someone else thinks!!!

Hope that helps!!

Blah who cares what other people think. If they are smug enough to think they are superior to you then they have a big head.
And who knows what goes in the private lives of these so called 'Wonder Women'...I can guarantee you that there are things that you are more capable of than them. That's the way the world works.
Take it easy and enjoy being pregnant!!

The big difference between your pregnancy and hers is that you lost your father and that takes its toll on you, physically as well as emotionally.

Go easy on yourself and do what feels right for you rather than what your superwoman boss did. After all everyone is different.

So, I had a chat to my boss today and she is cool with me reducing some of my hours soon, so thats good.

Also spoke to MW again who recommended Ferrograd C, and I also got some spirulina tabs, which are supposed to help with iron and energy levels.

AND DH is cooking a big meaty stew for tea plus tamarillos for after which are also supposed to have lots of iron in them!

At this rate I will be magnetic!
