    Posted: 06 December 2010 at 9:31pm
I'm starting to get a little worried (ie petrified) that I've not felt proper movement yet with my second pregnancy, I felt flutters that I'm sure wasn't wind lol at around 11/12 weeks and a few time after but nothing for the last month or so. With first pregnancy I felt proper kicks from 17 weeks, I'm now 18.5 wks and starting to fret. Bump seems to be growing, heard heartbeat at 16wks, am I being silly or should I get the GP to do heartbeat again as have flown long distance since 16 wks?? When did you feel your second baby move compared to first??

Do you remember if they said where your placenta was at your 12 week scan? cos if it's at the front (I think that's called anterior) then the kicks aren't felt as much and it can take longer to feel baby move. If you are really worried though speak to your mw and she might be able to pop a doppler on you to put your mind at ease.

My first pregnancy no movements until 22/23 weeks but had an anterior placenta. I would find out where your placenta is, it may be that you simply haven't noticed but if you are worried then there is no harm in asking mw/GP. Otherwise, whens your 20 weeks scan and can you wait until then?

Yeah, I was going to ask where the placenta is? You must be coming up to your scan soon .... Personally, I would ask the GP just to set your mind at ease.

And going to your other question - I felt Dan at 14 weeks and Ben at 11 weeks. High posterior placenta in both cases.

I just checked the paperwork from 12 wk scan and the placenta details are blank grrrr! 20 wk scan booked for the 21st, might give the Dr a call in the morning (don't have MW as only in NZ for 3 mths)

You can also go up to the hospital and see the midwives there...give them a call and say you are concerned and they will more than likely be happy to put your mind at ease....I did this when I was in NZ and didn't feel baby moving. Of course after I left the little monkey starting wriggling all over the show

The midwives there were most happy to help out.

snap.
i'm 18wks and thinking the same thing about not feeling baby move. I know I'm posterior placenta, but still nothing. When I had my 16wk check with MW, she could hear the baby kick and asked if I felt it - nada.
DS was C-section, that area still feels a bit odd. Not 100% numb, but not 100% normal either. I'm putting it down to that and counting down to 20wk scan.

Can't really change scan as DH arrives from the UK a few days before the current appointment but funny enough I felt movement last night lol!!! DS was having a wail about something and burried his face in my tummy and there was lots of fizzing!!! And then later as I sat on the bed there were definite wee kicks against my waistband in protest did make my eyes leak
