Eeeekkk my daughter will be soon turning the big 3 and I am stuck with ideas on what to give her? She has had alot passed down to her from her older sister. but still I am stumped.

I am also looking at xmas pressies as xmas will be a few weeks after that. Who's idea was it to have 2 daughters born in December, 7 days and 2 years apart!

Any ideas please

You could do what we did with our 3 year old - nothing! She got heaps from everyone else, and didn't expect or notice that she didn't get anything from us.

I hear you on the 2yrs apart daughters with birthdays close together - at least we have Oct and Nov rather then Dec!

I have boys so not too good at girly presents. My friend's 3.5yr old like playing with her Barbies and LOVES dressing up in princess dresses. Playdoh is usually a good one

Mmm okay what is she into? That age it was Barbies still for my girl and fairies and mermaids. What about some special books?

What I am going to get is some puffy paint. It comes in a pencil type form and they can draw on anything. Shoes clothes etc (perhaps get some crocs and some t-shirts and things like that) Then when it dries you heat it up with a hairdryer and it puffs up.

Some nice blocks to build with. Or drawing type things. What about beads to make jewelry (thinking of the bigger chunkier type things)

In saying this McKayla was always ahead with certain type toys and her hand eye coordination is quite advance.

How about taking her to the shop for a look around and just observe her and see what she is more drawn too. That is what I do if I have no idea what so ever on what to get.

I find that my 3 year old DD is in to anything that encourages imaginative play. We got her an outside wooden playhouse and her favourite things are inside it - a wooden kitchen, with pots, pans, utensils, plates and play food, plastic expresso machine and separate kettle, a chalk board/white board easel, a plastic tool bench with hammer, pretend drill, screwdrivers, etc. She loves anything to do with painting/drawing, so heaps of different paints, pens, crayons and paper always go down a treat, as does playdough. For Christmas we are getting her a wooden table with four stools that will be good for inside or outside play.

I have just brought one of these My art box. It wasn't for a birthday just cos I was sick of the boys stuff lying round. Its awesome.

I am hearing you on having 2 of the same sex, certainly makes buying gifts hard.

I have got playdoh, wooden tool set, a leather look toy box and a mocka chair for my 3 year olds birthday in Nov. Christmas is a balance bike and a water play table that is to share with his brother.

We have a large wooden playhouse with all the works. It is a godsend! The girls play in it everyday.

Hard to believe our kids are going to be 3 aye Peanut. I am still getting over the shock of having a nearly 5 year old!
