During pregnancy, I used to have lots of cows milk, cereal twice a day everyday and never had a problem. Now after giving birth, I have found that my body cant handle milk, a couple hours after having it, even skim milk, I have a bad stomach and the toilet becomes my new friend for a while. Anyone else had a similar thing happen?

Yep. I was constantly sick after I had DS and it wasn't until recently that I realised it was due to milk.
DS had a cows milk intolerance which caused reflux too, I wonder if the two were related somehow?
I was completely dairy free for just over 6 months and in that time had no more upset tummies.
Now, a year lately DS and I can both tolerate small amounts of dairy.

I had the opposite. I was intolerant to dairy before getting pregnant, not during my first pregnancy and not until I got pregnant again. Now I'm pregnant and intolerant to dairy so it's really strange the way it changes with hormones.

It's to do with the change in your body's chemical structure I THINK?????

I used to be able to eat a shed load of capsicum. We used to use it every meal. Then for some reason it started giving me the most wicked stomach ache & gas so much so it lays me out flat even from a minute trace. Wasn't pregnant or anything else significant.

Chances are that if you eliminate it for a while & then trial it again later your body will accept it, or it might not.

We humans are weird entities, no wonder Aliens study us.

I know that some people seem to become gluten intolerant after pregnancy. Seems one of the triggers is stress or pregnancy or other major health changes. Perhaps it's the same for other intolerances as well?

I don't have an intolerance, but when I was pregnant with Cuinn, meant suddenly started to taste like dishwash and that taste has never gone away again

I have IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and one of the side effects is a lactose intolerance....during pregnancy I could have dairy products no sweat and as soon as the girls were born, I was back to not being able to have anything (in fact it was worse than before). Now, 18 months later, I am back to being able to have small amounts. So hormones and stress on the body can do strange things!!
