Hi

I think you said that you're in the 5 cross roads area? On Boundary Road (no. 87) is the Hamilton Parents Centre (www.parentscentre.org.nz) and they have a coffee lounge which you might find handy to walk to ? You join and get access to a toy library, music and movement (although you're probably sick of these!!!), parenting courses and info. Give them a go as they arrange coffee dates for parents.

A SPACE (www.space.org.nz) course sounds excellent (Disclaimer: my friend teaches one of them) so perhaps check them out. Your nearest one is run out of st Andrews playcentre I think (so a pain to get to if no car but it might be worth contacting them now with regards to a course for your new baby when s/he arrives?).

I live in Flagstaff and have been in hamilton off/on for the last 23 years, and my 'baby' is almost 5. But if you don't mind that, then maybe a coffee at 5X roads McD or chartwell/westfield one afternoon or a weekend might suit ... PM me

Hi Ally cat... I haven't read through all the pages but it sounds really hard for you and you sound really homesick.

Just when you talked about crying all day long and the panic it made me wonder about postnatal depression. Is there any chance that could be a factor?

Hi. Sorry I haven't been on in a while. I'm in chch for the holidays n have been quite busy catching up with everyone. I'm nog looking forward to going back at all on Wednesday. Except to see Df.
I have thought about pnd. But I'm not sure if it is as might get better after we have been here abit longer and met some friends.
U talked to my midwife n she said to go to the doctor if I am feeling really down all the time.

Ally_cat - YAY that you are in CHCH hope you are enjoying yourself, maybe you should go to your doctor and just let him know how you are feeling etc.

Hope everything is ok when you get back, I know your not looking forward to it and I am guessing it will be very hard for a couple of days until you settle back into your routine. Take care of yourself.
