Topic: Success with Clomid? Posted: 10 October 2011 at 7:55pm |
Hey girls. Wow it's been a while since I've been in here! So the short story is hubby and I have been trying for number 3 for 19 months now with no success. I have PCOS and I'm lucky to get a cycle every 2 or 3 months :( I've finally gotten around to seeing a private gynecologist and she has given me a prescription for clomid which I'm waiting to start on my next cycle.
Just wondering if anyone has any positive success stories about clomid? I'm so excited to even just have a regular cycle. We did try charting but when your going up to 4 months without seeing AF it can be a struggle to stay motivated enough to keep up with it. Having a monthly AF is going to be fantastic!

Hey Lisa - firstly your girls are gorgeous!!
I have seen quite a bit of success with Clomid on these charts, personally I did one month and got my BFP unfortunately it ended in a MC. Going to do a few months trying naturally before going back on the Clomid.
If you have a look under the coping with infertility section there is a clomid pill poppers section. Quite a few of us in the charting thread are charting and taking Clomid.
FX it does the trick for you

Yep me, after 23 months TTC I fell pregnant on my fifth round of Clomid with my Littlest DD. Took a few goes to get my doseage right, but once we did we hit the jackpot It gave me horrid sweats and hot flushes but it was worth it!
Good luck I really hope it works quickly for you!

I was diagnosed with PCOS (very long cycles, never ov'd on my own, BAD cysts on both ovaries..) and was on Clomid for 3 rounds (apparently my scan was so bad- so many cysts that my gynae didnt know if clomid would even work so just gave me 3 rounds and i was already on the list for IUI etc if the clomid didnt work..) BUT the 3rd round we hit the jackpot and now my gorgeous girl is 9 and a half months old clomid tends to work really well for most with PCOS, so hang in there, and push through all the icky side effects- heres hoping you have none at all though!
after my first round i was put on metformin too which i think helped heaps..(maybe ask the doc about that if you like?) the first clomid cycle its doubtful i ovd from looking at my chart..but it did shorten my cycle a lot.the 2nd cycle with clomid and metformin i got a bfp but a chem pregnancy, 3rd round made up for it all tho!
good luck i hope you get those 2 magic lines very soon! x x

Both my kids are clomid babies.
I think we got preg on our 5th or 6th cycle the 1st time round and conceived triplets, however i lost 2 of the babies and we have Jorja shes 3.5y.
Then second time around it took us 15 months TTC with about 4-5 (? maybe more) cycles of clomid and now we have Lockie hes 13.5mths
Good luck!

Hey Lisa
I also have PCOS with extremely long and random cycles (can be as long as 70 days). Don't think I was ovulating. Clomid made me have a regular cycle and ovulate. 6th cycle worked for us and I'm now 19 weeks pregnant, YAY.
Good luck

Great to hear your stories! J&Ls Mum - I did a quick internet search and there seems to be a lot of stories about women getting triplets on clomid I'm sorry for your loss.

Hi Lisa
Hope your first cycle went ok. It's worth it in the end and so many people have success with Clomid. Hopefully your wait is not too long.

hi ladies, i had a dr apt the other week and clomid was suggested to help me OV. i am on CD51 and blood tests i havent yet OV....? i am a little hesitant taking clomid as dr said there is a possibility of having multiple babies. im ok with twins as they run in my family, but triplets would be scary!! what are your stories with clomid?

Hi sorry I haven't been in to reply I've been having prolems with my login :)
Spunky I think it's worth it. there's only a 10% chance of multiples and from the point of veiw of someone with twins if you get them they are amazing. I'd be stoked if I got another set lol. They will start you off of the lowest dose of Clomid and give you a scan on your first round to make sure your not popping out multiple eggs.
J&LsMum - My first round was alright. I had no side effects while taking the pills but a few days after I finished them I started getting the hot flushes and now I have super sore boobs lol. Got a scan on day 10 and there were a couple of possible eggs but they weren't very big so she didn't think I'd OV this month. Going up to a larger dose next cycle.
