Topic: Has anyone had a BFP when Posted: 16 March 2009 at 2:35pm |
They "DTD" 2 days before ovulation rather than the day before or day of ovulation?
I was just having a look through FF and couldnt really see any postives that had had sex just a couple of days before ovulation.
So is it really vital that you hit it bang on?!
I thought that sperm was suppose to last a wee while?

I'd say 2 days before could defnately do it. We DTD (hehehe) at some time unknown before ovulation and fell pregnant. Scan put us back a week so ovulation was sometime between when we did it and a week after (not much action around that time so I know when TDWD (the deed was done).
Its meant to cause girls...dont tell James that though.

Lol thanks for that!
We always seem to manage only 2 days before ovulation every month! I think we are on track then something happens or ovulation delayed etc!
So was feeling all pretty down about the whole thing!

Definitely possible, that's what the Shettles method is all about (closer to ov or after = boys, 2-3 days before ov = girls) but obviously that's not an exact science. Sperm can last anywhere between 48-72 hours I think (some say up to 5 days ) 'in there' before dying so definitely possible.

we did it every second day starting four days before ovulation and on the day of ovulation. I have seen charts on ovusoft.com of woman getting pregnant 8 days before ovulation. So it is very possible. I would say two days before is within the fertile window.

I have definately gotten pg by having DTD 2 days prior to ov (well according to FF!). That one unfortunately ended in m/c but it's absolutely possible. So chin up!
