Topic: Mid Cycle Bleeding - TMI Posted: 05 October 2010 at 11:24am |
Hi ladies,
Just wondering if anyone has had what I am having.
Had some mid cycle bleeding this cycle - am going on five days now. It's quite heavy to be called spotting, but not heavy enough to be called light AF. Mostly brown but with occasional red blood. Enough to have to wear a liner, but that does last the entire day.
Last cycle I started taking B6 and spotted one day, but this is way longer. Wondered if its possible to have something to do with that?
Any shared experience story - good or bad - would be most appreciated.
Quite worried....

I think the b6 might have something to do with your spotting. If you dont get pregnant this month Maybe next month you could always stop taking it and see if the spotting stops. If not then it might be another problem. I think the only time spotting is normal is around ov time and one or two days before Af arrives or during Af. But im not 100% sure.

I took B6 a for the start of one cycle and started to get mid cycle bleeding! I stopped taking B6 on recomendation from my Fertility Specialist and my mid cycle spotting stopped.
I was taking it to reduce the spotting at the other end of my cycle ( i start spotting at 5DPO until AF). But it didn't work, it just made it worse.
Hope this helps!

I had this happen too when I took the B6. Was not cool at all considering I had never ever had mid cycle spotting ever!
Even stopping the B6 didnt help in then end, the only thing that stopped the spotting was Clomid and regulated my cycles back to normal.

I have this too, usually, it started about 2 years ago for me.
I don't take B6 on its own, and never have, but as part of a multivit.
KarenMae are you charting or tracking the bleeding to a certain day/phase? It could be something like polyps or fibroids etc, I think they are less tied to your cycle but I'm not sure for definite.
If the midcycle bleeding is after ovulation consistently it might be related to progesterone. Have you had any bloods done? I'm currently wondering about the CD21 progesterone test - I think its usually to show that you have ovulated, but does anyone know if medical people read anything more into the level other than 'ovulation has taken place'?

Thanks ladies
Oxy - when spotting started I stopped taking it - have only taken it a couple of weeks....
Emma - hope your spotting has stopped!!!!
Peachy - am going to Dr if it doesn't stop/and or happens next cycle after not having B6 for a month
Spanky - I did have this about a year and a half ago - but different type of spotting... this time is brown, the last time was red. Last time it was a mass on my cervix which I had to remove with a LLetz Loop Procedure. Not one I want to repeat!!!!
I am charting - my chart is under Charting Girls. So far this cycle spotting is constant - enough to have to wear a liner....
If it happens next month I will go to Dr and ask re Polyps/Fibroids. I am thinking maybe a thyroid problem as I have a lot of similar symptoms so will ask for a test when at Dr....
Haven't OVd yet this cycle - due to in a couple of days.... I will ask Dr for blood work also - was going to anyway as we have been trying 6 months....
I think Progesterone test is also testing level of progesterone - a certain level indicating ovulation has taken place, but it also needs to be high enough for implantation to work??? I think....
