Topic: Radian carseat owners Posted: 11 March 2011 at 9:08pm |
After much research and deliberation I have decided to buy a radian but what colour? I can't decide between shadow, eclipse or ventura. I like the fact that the ventura is cotton as DS seat is currently micro-suede and he gets really hot and sweaty in it,
What colour do you have? How do you find it to clean? Does the fabric breathe well?

I went for ventura for the same reason. DS gets allergies so we tryt o make sure all his clothing is cotton, so it was a bonus that the ventura was cotton too. I also like that it is a pale colour, so doesnt get too hot, but also doesnt show up any marks. It took me ages to decide, and im still happy with it

I have the eclipse- black coloured one. Its great. Although im pretty sure the material is not cotton, maybe a blend? D hasnt gotten hot and sweaty in it. My ex spilled something on it (but wouldnt admit to it) so there is a small spot on it which shows up darker- but I havnt tried to get it out, and have never needed to clean it. I love DD's Radian- im so happy I brought it, and will buy more for any future kids I have

Have you tried removing the cover to wash it Aethalia? Can you biff it in the machine on gentle wash or does it need to be hand washed?
According to the website:
Eclipse - grey polyester air mesh & black velour trim
Shadow - black micro-denier plaid nylon & black velour trim
Ventura - grey cotton jacquard & charcoal velour trim

I have the Eclipse one and decided to go for it because of the air mesh - just seemed like a cooler option and it goes perfectly with our car upholstery.
DS doesn't seem to get very hot in it. The beauty of these carseats is that they're less enveloping than others, with the low profile sides so I think air circulates better.
My second favourite was Shadow but I decided that might get too hot being black, but it did look good...
I didn't really like the Ventura...thought the pattern was too busy. Someone has been trying to sell one on trademe recently.
You won't regret getting a Radian. I'm definitely getting them for any more children we have.

We got the Eclipse, for all the reasons the others have said, and it goes well in our car, and I would imagine it will in any future cars too.
For us, it was a toss up between that and Ventura.
That carseat was probably the best purchase we have made for DS, I had to put the Safe n Sound in the other day and it was a right PITA to install, get DS in and it just doesn't feel as secure as the Radian. You won't regret getting it.

Mrs_B- No i havent tried, I suppose I should but I just havent got around to it! lol. I think it would be fine to hand wash it, or use a damp cloth. And I agree with Mealz about the air flow, and the look in the car! I also didnt like any of the other colour styles, especially the fawn coloured one- it looks like it would be really hot.

We have the Bentley which is tan & brown micro-fibre velour. It's super gorgeous
I should add that we got ours on sale for $415, so I wasn't going to complain about the colour

We have the Ventura because it was the only natural fibre cover, though I quite like the pattern anyway so that wasn't a hard decision!

M'moo... You guys don't even have a car, do you? Lol!
We have the eclipse-the grey one. It's super lovely! DS never, ever seems hot in it, and whenever I pull him out his bum/back is never sweaty or anything. Plus it looks good (even though our car is all black inside, with part leather) the grey looks good. It doesn't seem to warm up in the sun either (but we have factory tinted windows which may help, and the carseat is in the middle)
It really is gorgeous and am soooo stoked with it!

LOL No, neither of us can drive Which, don't laugh, is one of the reasons we went for the Radian. As we very rarely use it, we only wanted to buy one car seat, rather than have to replace car seats that we've never even used IYKWIM.
