I'm pretty sure moderate coffee (or caffine in general) consumption is ok.
I think that means up to 3 cups a day. This is from memory so I'm not sure how accurate it is

I read in a book about PG that up to 2 cups a day was OK - so as long as your not having short blacks I can't see it being an issue.
Personally tho I have stopped.

oh god no! You would not believe the number of people who have 'suggested' to me that I quit coffee. I rarely would drink any more than 2 a day, and more often than not only have 1 cup (fw) as it is.
Now tea . . . thats more of an issue, I drink LOADS of that. I've switched to decaf bags in an effort to cut down, and so far, so good, but its been gradual.

I LOVE my coffee and if it got to a longer period of time I would cut it out if thought it really was affecting things. But I know I don't really over do it as it is, and (especially after this past 2WW) I'm finding this obsessing about choices (do I do a hardout cardio? do I skip the ab work? do I have that glass of wine? . . . . blah blah) I bloody appreciate the coffee and to quit it would be not impossible, but why deprive??!!!

And to move on from woffling about my obesessions slightly . . . the numbers here may be a little out, but I did look into this a few months back (like I said, tendency to obsess)
apparently mc rates can be related to caffeine intake, dunno what the source was for this info. 200mg caffeine was the recommended max amount daily, with one coffee being at 100mg and 1 tea at 75mg?

Not sure where I heard this from either but there was some suggestion that the chemicals involved in the decaffeinating process are worse for you than the actual caffeinated content, so no solution there either!

ETA I wouldn't continue to drink coffee after a BFP, as I wouldn't risk it. But for ttc I would, for mental health and normailty and plain enjoyment

I drank 2 cups a day while I was pregnant. But having said that, Im not a huge coffee drinker so just needed my 2 morning wake up coffee's and I was good to go

I did read somewhere the amount of coffee you shouldnt exceed but I cant remember the measurement. But for memory it worked out to be like 3 cups a day.

I drank coffee (one in the morning, and a soy mocha at morning tea) until I couldn't stomach it any more, which was sometime in the first trimester....I've only recently (as in, about 3 weeks ago) been able to drink it again, so it was over a year without coffee. You get used to not drinking it I lived on hot chocolates and Milo.

According to Dr Oz's book "You: Having a baby" 200mg a day is fine. Thats from all sources Coffee, tea, chocolate etc. Having said that I've had friends who drank more than the recommended amount during their pregnancies and their babies were fine.

Being a coffee lover I used to drink quite strong coffee and have 3-4 a day plus diet coke. Then DH joked that when I did get pregnant the baby would be born "tweaking" lol . Since then I've cut back slowly! I started by reducing the amount of gounds I put into my filter in the morning. I'm now down to 1 scoop of coffee to enough water for 2 cups and only coffees from cafes on occasion more often I get Chai's instead (not caffiene free but less than coffee). Now when I get UTD I won't have to go through withdrawls.

Like all of us I want to do whats best for baby but like DH said "you've gotta live too" and is the stress of trying to cope without your 1 coffee a day any better?

I tried stopping drinking coffee but it wasn't worth it lol!! You know they say happy baby happy mummy hahahahahaha....obviously in moderation and I didn't have any other vices (except the occasional bag of chips).....
But I didn't really drink heaps of coffee beforehand anyway, the most would have been three plungers a day (small, one cup ones, in case you were wondering.....). And no tea or chocolate or coke or stuff like that.
