I second the honey. My dr told me to dissolve half a tsp in warm water. He said it works much better than cough medicines.
It seems to work for DD, but then, she hasn't had croup, just coughing due to a cold.

You shouldn't give honey to a baby younger than 1. It contains bacteria which can be harmfull to babies. Watch for wheezing and take him to the dr. My son ended in hospital due to a couch so don't leave it toolong. A vapouriser with Vicks drops in it works wonders for them when they are little. Couldn't do it without mine.
