Ok so I have a 28 day cycle....according to the ovulation predictor date thingy I should have ovulated between the 28th and 30th of December ... and yet got a hormone blood test on day 21 - the 4th of jan to confirm I was ovulating - and i should be 'having relations' in the few days prior to ovulation - why is the test on day 21?? when am i supposed to 'try' to concieve?

Hey there - Day 21 bloods are normally for confirm ovulation and is after OV occurs. The best way to pinpoint when to od the deed is to get some OPK's if you have a 28 day cycle every month then I would be trying from day 11 - 15.
Good luck xx

That is the only way to test that you actually ovulated. Your progesterone levels rise 7 days after ovulation so you generally have the test on day 21 to check your levels. I guess you would need to use OPK's if you want to find out when you are ov'ing and when to BD

I definately had increased EWCM 3 days leading up to expected OV dates, and felt it - its the same every month - kinda preggie symptoms TBH so I was sure I was ovulating but not getting blinkin pregnant!!
I just didnt understand the 7 days after thing - thanks for that.
I guess what it comes down to is If I am ov'ing as predicted - then Im just not getting enough action! ;)

All the best raspberry - ditto to what the other girls said. My fertility lady told me to be getting busy from CD11 to around CD16 as much as possible. We usually start with a hiss and a roar then sometimes lose steam right at the wrong time lol.

lol, I got DH to watch that doco on making babies - so he could understand my 'nagging' for 'it' at certain days of the month, he was a bit blown away by what a trek it is for his little fellas to be in the right place at the right time....heres hoping he remembers that this month!
