Hi everyone,

My DD has just started walking in the last week and a half/2 weeks and has in the same time developed what looks like a cut/graze/sore on her bottom... It started off on one bum cheek and today I noticed it on the other bum cheek and also maybe 1 inch below her pelvic bone... I don't know if it's from falling on her bottom so much now (although she wears a nappy so not sure how she'd get a sore on her bum other than a bruise!)

I don't think it's nappy rash... Then again - I'm not sure what nappy rash looks like tbh! But doing a google search - it didn't look like that!

It does look kinda like the images for boils but I'm really not sure what to do...

I have been putting that Lucas' pawpaw ointment on it and seems to be working, will probably take her to the doctors in the next couple of days if it doesn't start clearing...

Anyway - just wondering what I should do, continue putting ointment on it or go to the docs? It doesn't seem to be bothering her but does look really nasty. She is also currently cutting 2 new teeth as well but I don't think it's nappy rash.

I'd get someone to have a look at it if you don't think that it is nappy rash & isn't clearing. 2 weeks is quite a while...

Are you using a new nappy brand? My boy gets blisters along the elastic line of one particular brand of nappy.

Nope no new nappies or wipes or anything. Doctor said no school sores and didn't think it was nappy rash (so no idea what it is) but has given us a anti fungal/bacterial steroid cream to apply 3x a day. She said it could be nappy rash and the pressure on the skin from falling on her bottom with walking could cause the skin to tear etc. But wasn't 100%.

Has she been eating lots of anything recently? I noticed around a similar age (so a few months ago) that DS got all these graze like sores and he was eating loads of dried apricots. He was also just starting to get his molars, so could have been that. Either way, I stopped the apricots and the molars came through and he hasn't had it since.

Any creams seemed to sting more than help, only thing that was ok was curash powder and that seemed to dry it out and then it healed.

She's just cutting her bottom lateral incisors atm. No sign of any other teeth coming through. And nope hasn't been eating lots of just one food. Has had quite a mix the last couple of weeks! But nothing new either!
