Topic: What do you do when your 2yo.. Posted: 13 November 2008 at 2:31pm |
Discovers they are able to remove their own pants and nappy?
Benjy now does this at every opportunity and while I'm not particularly opposed to him running around nudie in the garden from time to time, I'm not such a fan of messes inside or random nudity in public.
He's not ready for toilet training yet and it doesn't seem like he's taking it off as a reaction to peeing or poo, its more because he can and because he likes to.
It doesn't matter if its velcro or snaps, he can get them off. Sposies provide more of a challenge but he manages and besides, I don't really want to buy them!
Crotch buttoning suits were no match for him either
DH hates dungarees, but that is the only thing I can come up with now!
Anyone got any ideas?
TIA!

Sorry, but dungarees were the only thing that stopped Kiya.
I knew someone who wrapped a strip of duct tape around her son's sposie to slow him down

Oh dear, Spencer can take off shoes, socks, trousers, velcro naps (including sposies) but he hasn't learnt how to do snaps yet. Was kinda hoping he wouldn't be able too but maybe I am kidding myself.
Sorry no help at all, but will be watching this thread as I may need to know myself soon.

A lady I know had the same problem with her DD and she put the nappy on backwards! She was using sposies but it should work the same for MCN. A bit trickier for mum to put on but a lot trickier for a wee poppet to take off

I hate to tell you this but nothing stops Erin if she wants to get undressed, nappy included! I just go with it - and always have wipes at the ready. Fortunately for us it's always at home rather than in public!

We used to tell Kryssi off and put it back on (or change it, if needed). Thankfully she has ceased from that odd behaviour.... she really only seemed to do velcro ones (which we stopped putting on her at night for that reason) but she can undo snaps - I've seen her!

nothing stopped jack doing this either........the phase was over within a couple of months
he was in sposies at the time and we often used tape to keep it on.....pain in the butt to get it off though!!

Ha ha Mel, he's been talking to those gremlins! They both had it sussed by about 13 mths Thankfully they do it less often these days, but Sienna has developed a real MCN aversion and if I put one on her she immediately takes it off.

Have you tried using nappy pins? Or handcuffing him?
