Help please - I'm having a huge stress!!!
I just went out for dinner and ordered a chicken salad and realised part way through that the chicken wasn't cooked properly.
It's been 1 1/2 hours now since I ate it and I've had 1 lot of MAJOR stomach cramps and really explosive (sorry TMI) poos and at the moment I feel ok just mild stomach cramps.
I'm really stressed about what I've possibly done to my baby. What are the chances of something bad happening??? Do I ring my midwife???
It would not hurt to call midwife or even call hospital. I think I would. I hope you ripped into the resturant - the is extremely bad practice. Thinking of you, good luck.
Hello, I got food poisoning from chicken at the start of my pregnancy (at about 11 weeks) and was really sick for 2 days. Went in a panic to my doctor the next day after eating the chicken. My doctor checked me out (didn't have any testing - she just felt stomach and asked where pain was etc) and said not to worry - just have lots of fluid and a very small bit of food every 20 mins or so. eg 1 cracker etc.
So do see your doctor, but try (!!) not to stress out too much.... The chances that there will be a problem with the baby are really low apparently.
Thanks! I rang my MW and she was fantastic. Said the same as you Zandie so I feel much more relieved. Just going to keep my fingers crossed for the next 24 hours or so
i think the fact that it unleashed on your stomach so early is probably a good sign as your body rejected it super quick. standard food poisining normally kicks in 24 - 48 hours after eating something bad which gives it time to get into your system so you'll probably be sweet as :)
This is my biggest fear! I really hope you ring that restaurant and give them an ear full or get your partner to do it! I tell every where I eat I'm pregnant and to very well cook my food.
