Topic: designer bums at night Posted: 30 August 2008 at 11:06am |
Would you believe my wee fella managed to leak through.....a sposie, a merino cover, his pjs, his merino winter weight gogo bag and his sheet!
God knows what happened last night but he was soaked.
We have just got our designer bums fitted and cover but I have been using the cover over a sposie as the first night I put the fitted on he pooped straight away. And it is SOOOOO big that I am not sure I really like it. Time will tell. but you might see it up for sale shortly.

Yes the DB fitted nappy is HUGE compared to pockets or sposies but it's such a reliable night nappy! We have them with the bamboo booster (did you get one of those?) and they have NEVER leaked. I use wool longies overtop in the winter or a merino cover over in the summer. Don't be put off by the bulk, they are SO reliable for heavy wetters!

OK Vic, I'll try again. It is more the fact that the little bugger pooped the moment a fresh nappy went on.....grrrrrr! That and he is such a wriggler putting 2 nappies on seems like I am asking for punishment.

I know what you mean, it can be a pain putting a cover over a wriggly baby that's only just managed to stay still long enough to get a nappy on. Maybe you could try wool shorties or longies over top, instead of the merino cover? They're much easier to get on and are just as effective - plus they double as pj pants!

Vic, that was my idea too. I started knitting a while back and the other day as we were sorting through things to pack I found 3 knitting "projects" that I had started.....and never finished! I was aiming for longies......might change that to shorties.

I use DB fitteds with the bamboo boosters, and the merino cover at night aswell. I love them. They are HUGE but very reliable. Sophie is quite a heavy wetter, and she lasts 12+ hours easily. They are annoying to get on sometimes, and I do find the side snaps harder that front snaps for getting on the wriggly bums, but its worth trying again. I'm sure you wont be disapointed!!

I have just finished knitting a pair of longies that might fit if you're interested? I could lanolize them for $15 all up, plus postage. If you're keen I can send you a pic & measurements - they're in blues, greys & white blend.
