Hi just wondering if anyone here can share their experiences with being on the Birth Control (Progestogen only) pill Cerazette...
I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and am unable to take oestrogen pills due to the severe reactions I get whilst on them (Chest pains, migraines/loss of vision, nausea and vomiting etc). But with the horrid ovulation pain, heavy and sporatic/irregular bleeding that goes with PCOS the pill is what Gynae wants to put me on so it's more manageable.
She gave me the option of Mirena or Cerazette. We went through pro's and con's and in the end the pill was more favourable, plus I wasn't overly keen on having something inserted up there.
Has anyone else here had cerazette for the same reason (PCOS)? If so, did you find it helped well with that? What were your cycles/bleeding like? Have been told it can stop my periods altogether, or makes them very very light which would be nice either way!
Or in general has anyone taken Cerazette, did you find it good? Pros/cons?
I'm really anxious about starting it, even though I know its easy to come off it, just scared that I'll still react even though theres no oestrogen.
Sorry no experience with PCOS but I've been taking Cerazette for 4 months now, I was taking Noriday before that as still BF. I find it really good, haven't had any problems with it. I don't get an AF with it which suits me just fine. My moods seem to be pretty stable, no spotting or anything like that and no extra weight gain. And there is a bigger timeframe window too unlike some other pills where you have 12 hrs to take it instead of within 3hrs.
