I just got my girls one done. They lay her on the floor and took a whole lot (yay for digital photos) then chose the one that met the requirements best. It's hideous though and makes her look like some dodgy drug dealer. Check it out - this is the actual shot in her passport.

Haha I was looking at Jacksons pp photo the other day, he was only 6 weeks old and his mouth was slightly open. They still accepted it

I saw the ad and don't get the big deal TBH.

#1 got his done a 6 weeks and it only took 1 shot.
#2 got his done at 8 weeks and the first photo failed but they did a second session for free and it passed.

I dunno what the story was about but we had to get DS passport when he was6 weeks old and so I just took heaps of pics at home until there were a few that suited....then took them to the passport place and they printed them out! So much easier to do at home when they are in a good mood I tell you that much, and you can take twenty million pics, as long as you make sure the background is good.

And he had his mouth open in the one they accpeted, I just rang to ask exactly how fussy they were and the lady said they would need to have open eyes but it didn't need to be perfectly front on and his mouth could be open.

Oh yeah and the passport place (the post office) printed the pic out for free coz the first one was not acceptable (eyes closed with a cry on his face lol). But then I dunno if that is standard practise and we are in aussie (but was for NZ passport)
