    Posted: 17 May 2014 at 1:43pm
Hi, I just received letter from fertility associates that I have been reallocated to Repromed for my public funded IVF treatment. This is first time I heard about the company, and I can see very little information about it. Could anyone please provide some feedback or success stories if they have been with Repromed? Many Thanks.

I have been working with them and just think they are fantastic! Doc is very personable, nurses are lovely, and they're very professional. I am so thankful for my experiences so far, esp after hearing about experiences from other clinics.

Thank you a.girl for sharing the information. I just felt disappointed and a bit anxious that I was queued for Fertility Associates for over a year, just 3 weeks away from my scheduled treatment, I was reallocated. Hopefully all goes well.

Sorry Angel - must be really frustrating to happen 3 weeks out! It's because the health board has reshuffled the IVF funding, so Fert Plus gets most of the public IVF, and Repromed and Fert Assoc share the rest. Is your birthday in Sep/Oct? I'd heard those were the dates Repromed were getting.

Hi mushroom, thank you. My birthday is in Nov. I saw your previous post about the allocations, so not sure why I'm moved from FA to Repromed. FA has my full records, including my laparoscopy couple years ago for endo. I love my doctor at FA, so i'm really not happy about this reshuffle.

Must be the guess was wrong (it was only likely, not definite) FA used to do June-Dec - I wonder if that means the Sep/Oct are with FA, and the Nov/Dec are with Repromed? That would mean I'll be moved to Repromed too, as I'm also Nov. Wonder how long their waiting list will be? Hope they start you really soon!

From my understanding, Repromed is only picking up public IVF patients from FA (Fert plus is keeping their group, plus getting some of FAs group), so I'd say everyone will be transferred in the same order they were on FAs list - which means you'd have to be right at the top.

Hi a.girl, do you mind if I ask which doctor you are with, and what type of treatment you are doing?

No worries :-) I'm with gudex and I have had 3 miscarriages in the ladt year around 10 weeks. He's helped us find out that I have a balsnced robertsonian translocation that is causing them (genetic problem with my eggs). We haven't had any treatment but will possibly do ivf with embryo testing through them this year. They also monitored my last pregnancy. I found them so kind and sympathetic when I needed it the most. The reason no one hears about them is the only people going there were paying privately up to this point. No public funding until last month.

Have you heard back from them about your apt or if you are going to have to wait longer?

Hi a.girl, thanks for sharing that with me. I'm sorry to hear about your 3 miscarriages, but glad to hear that you have a great doctor who cares about patient.

In regards to the reallocation, I contacted DHB directly to express my concern 'cause my treatment is supposedly only 2-3 weeks from now (I feel really disappointed now that I did not take up a cancellation spot last month from FA, but nothing I can do now). I was reassured by DHB that my treatment plan would be transferred to Repromed, and I can start immediately when my next cycle starts. Thank god that I don't have to wait again, after 3 years of trying, and another 1 year on waiting list.

Thank you mushroom. It's weird wanting to have AF earlier, as usually I dread it. I just want it done before it gets too cold, I read somewhere that winter has lower IVF success rate than summer. ack. Positive thoughts, positive thoughts...

That's who I see. I really like him. He does a live q and a session on the essentialmum.co.nz site once a month.
