I have 5 ecobot covers, 2 home made covers and 6 ecobot prefold inserts. how many more will I need?

also I have 5 ecobot small covers and 18 prefold inserts aswell as some old flats from mum - but htey will probably be to big to fit in the small covers but may fit in the med size I have.

an y help will be appreciated.

What sizes are the prefolds in, and the first lot of covers? It's a bit hard to figure out what you're describing.

Hi there,
the first lot of covers are NB from www.ecobots.co.nz and 2 home made NB size.
the first 6 prefolds are 34x22cm
and the 18 prefolds are 36x29cm

just had a look at the ecobots website to see the sizing of their inserts and they are different to the ones I have even thorugh they are from ecobots.

Ok so... I think the 6 are nb and the 18 are small - You will probably find they should all fit a newborn, unless it's really tiny, though the smalls might be a bit baggier, so you should be fine. The flats should work fine too - I would suggest using either a snappi or pins if you aren't already intending on using pins, but that's all I can think of that you'd need.

found a couple on TM and will have a look around in shops.
so the snappi is used with the old cloth flats and then I put a cover over top dont I?

If you're going to buy a snappi on TM it should be under $5 or so, you can get them on various online stores for about that.

The snappi is used with the prefolds - you'll need pins if you want to do a similar wrap around thing with the flats, or there is some nb pinless folds I think. The prefolds are made up differently, so the snappi can grip on.

so I don't just fold the prefolds (i guess that is what they are called) in three and lay them down the middle of the cover?

That's what you'd do without a snappi/pins, it's not very good at containing nb poo explosions, which are very common, esp if you're breastfeeding.

Yoinked from one of the retailers sites - that's what a snappied prefold looks like.

That's what it's folded like, though there are different folds you can experiment with. From here you'd just fold it up, and fold over the top till it's sitting at the right level, then snappi it.
