I have been sick for about 11 days now. And I'm not getting any better! I got Ashleigh's conjunctivitis last week that had all but cleared but yesterday flared up really badly again (I'm using her antibiotic eye ointment though). I have a bad cough, coughing up green gunk (sorry!!), really really bad nose, I've gone through 2 big boxes of tissues in a week. i've got a sore ear and as of last night a really sore spot in my throat when i swallow. I feel like sh*te basically. My gp is very anti giving antibiotics for anything viral so don't want to waste money going to see her if she won't give me anything. But I'm not sure if I need something if i have a throat/sinus/chest infection. And of course being pg makes a difference too. So at what point would you guys go to the doctor? I do have a mw appt today so I think I'll ask her what she thinks aswell.

Id go, green *usually* means an infection, and with you being pregnant I wouldnt take any chances.

I do find bugs tend to drag on longer than usual when I'm pregnant, but if it has been going on for more than 10 days and is getting worse not better I'd go just to rule out infection.

I don't have a lot of faith in the Dr that said it but I was told that they "don't like coughs in pregnant women", she didn't elaborate further when I asked so I'm not sure why?? But it might be worth getting checked out for that reason too.

I'm feeling your pain (though not 11 days worth so far, you poor thing!) horrible nose, sore throat, ear, eyes and head. Kids have it too along with a nasty cough so we're a miserable house right now!

Hope we're all feeling better soon.

Green usually equals an infection so I would go too.

I was a puree feeder, forward facing, cot sleeping, pram pushing kind of Mum... and my kids survived!

I would only go if it lasted more then 10 days. I usually get over flus/colds really fast.

However since you are pregnant I think you should go, just to be on the safe side.

I don't but I just got the flu for the second time in 6 weeks so I went - got prescribed some pretty mean meds (not antibiotics) that have helped a tonne.

I would go if I were you :-)

I don't usually go unless I know it's turned into an infection (usually for me it'll be a throat infection). But it sounds like you should most definitely go, especially being pregnant. You don't want that infection to get nasty.

Green stuff means infection so for that I would go.

I had nasal congestion that lasted 3 weeks - mostly due to being pregnant and not being able to take any over the counter remedies, I didn't go to the Dr. If it had spread to my chest however then I would have.

Chest infections in pregnant women need to be treated.  That's one of the main reasons they're offering the flu vac to us.  As a bad flu can effect your heart.

I never go to the doctor. But, then I've never coughed up green stuff, so in that case, I would go.

And eat lots of good yoghurt to counter the killing of the good bugs in your system. A nasty case of thrush would be the icing on the cake!
