My brother and SIL just called in unexpectedly and told us they are pg with their first . I want to get them something because when I was pg they gave us a lovely record book and an outfit which Jack wore home from the hospital.

I won't get them clothes as SIL's dad is already planning his shopping trips (first baby on SIL's side) and I think her sister is likely to get the record book although I will check.

So what else can I get. I only want to get something small-ish but something that will be kept i.e. something for baby rather than SIL. Ideas please!!
Lindsey

there are some gorgeous frames for scan pics at babycity, under $30. they also have baby keepsake boxes for bubs' special things but i'm not sure how much they are.. or if you are any good at knitting or sewing you could make something? handmade gifts are always precious

what about a really nice musical toy for the nursery. my boss gave us a really nice one by Kaloo (not sure where he got it from and probably a bit pricey) and our girl just loves it. It's a lovely caramel coloured plush bunny with a proper music box inside and plays a tune which I think is a french lullaby. Probably would be worth spending a little extra on something like that because it's much nicer than the standard ones you get from the baby and toy shops which often use electronic recordings rather than a music box and sound harsh and tinny and not at all soothing.
