    Posted: 31 July 2008 at 5:48pm
Ok so yesterday I noticed some brown blood. Went to the hospital and had bloods and scan done.

This is the result from my scan:

USS Pelvis was performed and was suspicious for but not diagnostic of a non-viable pregnancy with no fetal pole or yolk sac visualised.

The sac measured at 6.1 weeks and my HCG levels were 6600 at 7w3d.
So while they couldnt see it it only measured at 6.1 weeks? I have no major cramping except a bit on my left side and slightly down my left leg.

The blood today (at about 10.30am) changed to red. Now at 3pm Aus time the blood has changed back to brown and there isnt much at all.

Whats going on??? Am I carrying a viable baby?? I am trying not to think the worst or be negative but If I am to MC I just want it to happen without it dragging out!

Has anyone had this before? Any advice good or bad is welcome.

Maybe give you doc a call and ask them to clarify the scan results and get them to tell you whats going on, if its good or not

Thanks Stacey. When I saw the Dr today (not my normal GP as he was fully booked) she said that there is a 50/50 chance I will MC. I thought she was bit of a B**ch though cos she was even reluctant to give me a referral thingy for more bloods tomorrow to check HCG levels.

I know its just a waiting game but just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced a smiliar situation.

Hi rianna08. My thoughts are with you with what your going through.
I know your looking for good outcomes, but I'd thought I'd tell you my story. You may have seen my many threads! My levels were low, 5767 at 7w4d and scan measured me at 6w2d. With a sac but not yolk. I also had some brownish blood, the odd red spot once or twice. In the end, after 4 weeks of 2 daily blood tests and 3 scans it was determined I had a 'type' of blighted ovum. I ended up having a d&c (which I organised myself because the medical system is crap!)...as I didn't want it dragged out any longer.

On saying this.....I have read stories of good outcomes. While I was going through this I visited this site which gave me some hope.

site

I really hope that your outcome is better than mine. I had to wait nearly 5 weeks before anything was done.
Hopefully someone will come along with some positive stories for you. But I know when I was going it, I appreciated the honesty people showed and 'real' situations that can happen.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you

I'm not too sure how it works in Aus, but here I was just able to photocopy the form for my hcg levels and just kept taking them in each time. That way there was no hassles with getting a doctor to give me a form.
I was then able to phone the nurse and get my results each time.

I had bleeding this time at 7 weeks too, and well, you can see from my ticker that things turned out okay I did have cramping, and clots as well.

Hi Rianna

So sorry you have to go through this stressful time. Any time you bleed in pregnancy its called a threatened miscarriage and 50% of the people who experience this will miscarry. Sounds like they are not sure what is happening with you at the moment because the scan was inconclusive.

Its terrible that the nurse was reluctant to give you a form for hcg testing because this can be a key diagnostic tool for miscarriage i.e. if the level is going down.

I have my fingers crossed for you and hope you have a good outcome.
