we had some spam go thru one of our very little used gmail accounts the other day ( a friend called and wondered why we sent her a "funny" email!)
anyways - we cannot log in and got a message that said:
Account temporarily disabled
To immediately restore access to your account, enter your mobile phone number below, and we'll send you a text message with a verification code.
so we sent email and complained etc...2 days ago now and NOTHING! so entered a phone number today - got an instant code and nowhere to enter it!!!
anyone have any ideas how to get google to acknowledge it and where to enter this code we now have??? would like to get on so we can delete the viral whatever it is and get some email addresses we need at moment! argh
Umm that sounds rather dodgy. Gmail asks you to nominate a secondary email account so in the event of your account being disabled I would expect them to send an email to your secondary account.
I'm not sure that the cell number request isn't part of a scam too.
