OMG!!!!! i even put the breaks on when im standing at lights waiting to cross, and im still holding on to the pram , the poor grandmother tho, bet she got the shock of her life , When i lived in aussie there was a woman who had been running along side the river with her pram, she got a ph call on her mobile and when she turned back after the call the pram was gone , she freaked out and ran out to the main road thinking someone had kidnapped the baby but the pram had actually fallen in the river , the baby died , was a real tragedy , if the woman had looked in the river instead of running on to the road she probably could of saved the wee baby , god i dont think i could ever forgive myself if something like that happend to me . its just awful!!!!!

God, I freaked out just watching that even though I knew the baby survived!
Poor woman, poor everyone there! It must have been horrific to see.
Thank goodness the baby is alright but geez, use the brakes if you're not holding the stroller!

Yeah, I remember when that happened. Breaks my heart when ever I recall it. I ALWAYS use the brakes. Always always. Every time we are at a crossing I just imagine what would happen if I didn't and the pushchair rolled away, so then I get freaked out about holding on the the pushchair. even though I'm holding it AND I have the jogging strap wrapped around my arm AND the brakes are on!

Yeah, they did lots of PR after the baby in the river about always using the strap - honestly people. Use the blasted things.

omg l freaked out just watching that too, I just keep seeing my kids in my head.
I ALWAYS put the pram breaks on, or I have a hand or foot holding the pram, or if someone else is with me I get them to hold the pram if I cant.
Urghh that made me feel ill as well

Sheena it made me feel sick too. I was holding my breath the whole time waiting to hear how the baby was
I cant believe people still arent using the brakes!!! It only takes a second to put them on. I put them on as soon as I stop. And I ALWAYS have the tether strap on my wrist, even in the mall!

Hmmm I was watching it and apparently the grandmother thought she had put the brakes on.

I can't even click the link. I don't want to see it even if the outcome is all right
I've lent our pram (P&T) to a few people since we've had it and feel like such a dork reminding them to always use the brakes and tether strap .... but better safe than sorry!

Well yeah, I don't think the umbrella folder would run away from you me as its a bit clunky. But the Mountain Buggy is very free wheeled.

I'm sorry but that really annoys me. Why can't people use the straps and use their brakes? The life of a child is worth more than your laziness.
I get so mad when I'm out walk with my son and I see people not doing these two things.

my friends baby went for a ride in his pushchair into a pond/lake a few years ago , wasn't intentional and was just a very easily made mistake , she was busy with her 3 other kids and was sure she had put the brake on , I often think I have and then realise I haven't so now try and push the buggy to make sure
(her boy was ok , he just came up spluttering and said "I dont want to swim wif the eels mummy " )

awww poor kid! I wouldn't want to swim with the eels either. Yeah, I know it could easily happen. I think that's why I'm so paranoid about it.
