 Topic: Tip for packing hospital bag

Hi, I just came out of hospital having given birth to our beautiful baby girl!
Just thought I would pass on what I hope is a helpful hint when packing your hospital bag - I packed heaps of long legged, long sleeved growsuits as its so cold lately but then found that the hospital was too warm for baby to wear them! Also I didn't pack nearly enough as I ended up being there 5 days and went through about 10 outfits.
Another thing is that I was really glad I packed a nice coconut smelling moisturiser. I would rub a bit on my arms and legs after my shower in the mornings and it made me feel all nice and pampered. Just a little thing but it made a lot of difference to how I felt.

Good tip!!
My MW told me not to pack any thing that was perfumed because baby needs to recognise you by your natural smell, I didnt pack any lotion or perfume at all. I wish I did tho but thats ok.

My theory is that since I always use a perfumed body wash, the baby will need to learn to recognise it!

that's so true about the hospital being too warm to wear long shelved tops. I had Ella in June and she just worn the baby hospital gown for most of the time she was in there and it was only when we were leaving that she had to get all rugged up. Also I packed my warm winter PJs and it was too hot to wear them.

no name yet!! still deciding. we have a shortlist though so we are getting there. another thing I would like to recommend is FemFresh wipes, I bought them from Foodtown. They are amazing for wiping after going to the toilet - I struggled with loo paper for a couple of days which really hurt on my stiches, but tried out the wipes as they are alcohol, perfume and soap free, and it didn't hurt one bit (and I have a lot of stiches).
