Hi

I don't know if anyone can help me or understand how I feel, my one year old daughter prefers her dad, even if daddy walks in she screams for him, she does not give me the same treatment. Even when we drop her off at granny in the morning she just has eyes for her dad, even though I also wave and say bye, its like she doesn't see me.

I am starting to get really depressed over this and even if I speak to her dad he doesn't reply back or even comfort me. I think he enjoys all the attention.

I am so scared that because my daughter favours her dad I will withdraw from her

I hope someone can help

It may just be that you're mum and you're always there. She can rely on you to be by her side and give her what she needs.

Sometimes Dad is more fun because he is seen less often and does all the fun stuff!

My son prefers his Dad and his Poppa and Pop. He gave them all smiles and cuddles before me. I was sooo jealous!! The first time I got a hug was when I went away for 1 night, he hugged me so tight the next day (I was gone for 48 hours), but the hug only lasted 5 seconds and then he was just happy I was there again!!

You could try and do fun things with your daughter? Like take her swimming or play peek-a-boo. Find something that is fun for just you two and dedicate at least 20 minutes of just fun

I know it's hard, but sometimes mum is just boring. In a way that's a good thing, because it means you're stable and loving
