Topic: Accupunture? Posted: 14 February 2009 at 3:20pm |
Hi,
I've read a few people mentioning accupunture as helping them to concieve, but just wondered, how does one go about choosing an accupuncturist, and what do you say to them?
Do I just choose someone local, make an appointment and say "I'd like to have a baby please" lol :)
Does anyone know a good person to see in Devonport/Takapuna area or the CBD in Auckland?

Hi there
I had my first session of acupuncture today, with the aim of improving my very long cycles (44-56 days) - was an interesting experience. Am going back tomorrow for a Chinese herb prescription.
There is a New Zealand Society of Acupuncturists page (sorry I can't remember the exact title, but if you google new zealand acupuncturists it should come up) with a search engine that allows you to look for registered acupuncturists by your area.
Would be interested to find out if anyone in a similar situation had a result?

Rilla - I didn't end up needing herbal treatment, but just had one cycle of acupuncture and ta da! BFP! My cycles had previously been anywhere from 42 - 64 days long (longest cycle ever was 72 days).

Hi Pearl, wow, what an amazing success story! That gives me real hope ;-)
I haven't really done anything like this before, am a bit nervous, but I figure it's got to be worth a try

I was nervous too - but I just breathed through it at the first appointment, my acupuncturist is lovely, and after that it was a breeze.
And yep - I figured it had to be worth giving it a shot!
