Well if you have been working over 10 hours for 12months you are entitled to the maternity allowance which gives you up to a maximum of around $400(before tax) a week for 12 weeks. So providing you can work as long as you possibly can up to when your due, you will get a good amount to keep you going for a few months to have some special time with bubs.
I am going to try and take advantage of that too, as i earn more than my husband so i will probably go back to work, hopefully at 3months my boss will let me do part time from home..........then at 6months probably go back 30hrs a week and my husband will get a job that works around my job...........As for other assistance, its really not enough to survive on and you end up being so stressed out due to money being so tight etc...........maybe your husband and you both could get part time jobs and work around each other to keep a little bit of money coming in. I used to do 4hrs 2 nights a week telemarketing just to keep a little bit coming in when my son was 5months.........you just do what ever suits..........even if it is telemarketing..............
