Topic: OK, i need info Posted: 16 June 2008 at 6:05pm |
OK, so I have a friend that was TTC. she and her partner BD'd on the 15th of April, two days before OV. then again on the 28th of May. She had three days of a very light AF on the 22-24th of may.
She did a test on the friday just gone and there was a positive, but it wasn't as dark as the control.
Could she be pregnant??
What is the liklihood it is a chemical pregnancy?
See, i would think that the bd on the 15th could lead to a BFP.. but implantation bleeding 5 weeks later?? IM confused.. I really want her to do another test as she isnt sure herself.. but ya know! You guys are a wealth of info

That kinda sounds like the dates (but different month) for my last positive. Mine wasn't chemical, mine was ectopic but still a pregnancy none the less.
Like they say, a positive is a positive! Maybe tell her to go to the docs and get it confirmed with bloods

I had spotting around that time but my MW wasn't worried so I didn't do another test or have anything else.
Does she have a MW yet? She could have a blood test or scan to see what's going on.
Good luck to your friend

A lot of women get random unexplained spotting in early pregnancy that aren't necessarily implantation bleeding so it could have just been that. I would get her to go to the docs, they can do another pee test there and any other tests that they think might be necessary. Normally if you have a bleed I think they like to do a scan.

Sounds like a BFP to me. The line on the first test I did was lighter than the control line. A line is a line and it will even tell you on the instructions that even if the line is lighter than the control it's still a positive. Still, it took me 7 tests until I was convinced. I'm still not convinced some days - HA!
Goodluck to your friend.

Oh and with the bleeding it could just be implantation bleeding. My friend had it for a couple of days with both her pregnancies and she's got two gorgeous bubbas now.

So is her period usually regular? Did she have a period at the end of April? I think she'll need to wait another week (for her June period due date to come and go) and then test again. If still no period and that is unusual for her, she will need to go to a dr to confirm with blood tests.

What time of day did she do her tests? If the BFN wasn't done with FMU (first pee of the day) that's why it could be a negative. I have PCOS too and was due to start clomid the day after I got my BFP. I had no symptoms and didn't get a BFP (and a very faint one at that) until 6 1/2 weeks. I would tell her to go to the docs and get bloods done (tell them about the BFP because that means that something has been going on so she's either still pg (which can be confirmed) or something else has happened which she might need to be scanned for. No point in putting it off!

hey almostthere-im not scared to ask on oh baby- your the one harrasing me at work to test-hehehehehe.
Okay ladies the thing is for the last week and abit i have felt pregnant and had no reason to think that, you know. I did a test just for the fun of it and yeah what you know got a faint line. After seeing the negative last night i still feel pg, even got DH to check that it was one line and not 2.
Im trying to not get my hopes up and just taking it as it comes right now and will be doing another test this morn when almostthere gets to work-i hope she gets here soon as i need the bathroom and have not gone since i went to bed last night
