My DS when he was 6 months would sleep through concrete cutting and jackhemmering down the hall! (we were renovating). It's amazing what they can handle!
I find now it's the toddler who wakes when the baby cries - he seems to be worried by the sound of her bieng upset. But he is getting used to it.
