Topic: linears Posted: 23 June 2008 at 1:13pm |
Just wondering do you use linears for your nappies and if so where do you get them from?
There seems to be a lot of them out there and the price is all over the place. What should I be looking for?
Thanks for your help.

I use microfleece liners and I bought them with my first cloth nappy order in the USA. I think they were Mother of Eden? I'm sure someone else here can recommend a good online retailer here in NZ, otherwise if you're handy on the sewing machine you can make your own by buying microfleece from Green Beans & overlocking the edges.

I never use liners, didn't see the point and haven't needed any creams for rash etc.
You can just go to spotlight, grab some of the little editions range and make your own (some of their little editions range wicks, some doesn't). Or greenbeans. Just cut them out. You don't need to overlock microfleece. It won't fray

Yes I was more thinking disposables. What brand of disposables do you use and where do you get them from.
I really just want to use them for the poop factor but may decide in the end that its not that bad.

I don't find washing the poo bad, but I do occasionally use disposable liners for when we're going out for long periods as its easier to flush the poo wherever we are than carrying it around until we get home.
I use the Johnson's flushable liners that are in the baby section at supermarkets.

we sell microfleece liners ($14.95 for 6) and disposable liners ($10.50 for 100) but to be honest, I've never used any type of liner. I've only sold the disposable liners to a lady who was literally terrified of getting baby poo on her hands. Her baby wasn't even born yet so I'd be interested to see how she's coping now lol

I use the flushable liners and get them from nappies for less and they (I think) were about $10 for a roll/box of 100, I think baby factory does them as well but from memory they were more expensive for less in a pkt. I did start out using some homemade ones but I don't cope well with poo and its easier just to flush it away!!

I use Johnson's disposable liners (you can't flush them), cut them in half length ways and they last twice as long (yes I'm cheap). I find liners are so much easier to deal with.

When A was little I found lboth the microfleece and the flushable liners a bit useless because breastfeeding poo just goes everywhere and gets on the naps anyway.
Now she's on solids the flushable liners are fantastic - just pick up the liner and the poo and flush.
I use the roll of 100 for $10 from Ecobots - these can be washed at least once and reused (yep I'm cheap too), but it's also easier to just chuck the whole nappy in the nappy bucket while changing, rather than separate out the liner.
I have also tried the "spun lace" ones that are $11.50 for 100. These are nice and soft, but don't survive a wash well.
I don't like the johnson's ones because they are non-flushable.
I must dig out my fleece liners now and see how they go on big girl poo!

Yep, I rewash my wet Johnsons liners too. Only chuck the nasty ones (and yes, I am a bad girl, I flush them )

I use flushable liners and also microfleece liners. The beauty with the flushable liners are that if they are soiled you just throw in the toilet or if they just got wet, you can wash them and use them again!!!!
I have used the Johnson liners and they were terrible - just like a dish cloth to be honest so that is what we used them for in the end!!!
I highly recommend flushable liners or microfleece liners for use in prefolds!!
