Topic: Mommys Touch OSFA Posted: 26 May 2008 at 3:18pm |
Is any one else out there having problems with Mommy's Touch OSFA. Mine are leaking, I've stripped them back and even had them on the twins that tight that there has been indentations in their legs (which is not right even though the supplier seems to think so). I am now having great difficulty trying to get a refund. Any suggestions would be great.

I haven't heard great things about mummys touch though I haven't tried them myself. If you can't get a refund perhaps try selling them on TM and try another brand. There's loads of one size nappies out there if you want to stick with one size.

That's a shame, my main stash is mommy touch and two of the ladies in my antenatal group also use them and none of us have had a huge issues with them. Mine did start to leak after about 6 months of use but I stripped them and now they are fine again.
What did you do to strip them? I scrubbed the fleece lining with dishwashing liquid and then put through a wash with no powder and then a wash with baking soda and vinegar.
Having them that tight doesn't sound right either, I was told when I bought them that they shouldn't gape but shouldn't be that tight that they are cutting the blood off.

My sister uses Mommy's Touch on her 14mth old and has done since he was about 6wks old. She hasn't had any major problems with them - a strip here and there certainly can help with leaks if you have the fit right. How old is your little one? Maybe you need to increase absorbency? My Leo started weeing heaps more at around 11mths when he was teething so I had to go from 1 mf insert to 2 during the day.

Oh yeah I probably should have added that I use Honey Child inserts as do the friends I mentioned, as I recommended them to them after I found them so great.

Thanks for your comments. I stripped the nappies by using 2tlbs dishwashing liquid in a hot wash, then re washed again without any detergent or washing powder until soap suds had disappeared and repeated this 6 times. I have also used a double bamboo insert and they still leaked. Really appreciated the feedback from you all.

Maybe PM Nikkiwhyte, she used to be an agent for them, she isn't anymore but she might be able to help you with trouble shooting.
I'm no good to you coz I'm not into OSFA's, the only ones we have are a couple of the HH OSFA's.

Try giving your nappy outers a hot blast in the dryer to reseal the PUL I remember having some trouble with my Fuzzis last year and this fixed my leak problems without causing any damage to my nappies. About 5-10min should do it.

LOL so that would be why my nappies never leak, coz they always go in the dryer
