 Topic: Fun and Games for 6 month olds

We've been at home for like 2 weeks now! DS has had ear/chest infections + this infernal weather. We are going crazy, and he (well...me) are bored. Actually, i know babies arent "supposed" to get bored with toys but i reckon he is. We need some new activities for home. Any favourites guys?

Do you have a jolly jumper?
Putting fun things underneath for different feeling on the feet is fun, ie, a container of shaving foam, cellophane, scrunched up newspaper, warm bubbly water....
messy play, you could make cornflour goop, or frozen peas are fun...

There are a few good websites with ideas for fun with babies, I can't remember of the top of my head though sorry, but try google it.
Actually I think one was like Fisher Price and another was Baby centre??

Cornflour gloop is awesome! just mix a little bit of water with lots of cornflour and add some colour if you want. Or let him loose on your pot cupboard. Hide some toys away for when he is older or get out some he hasnt played with for a while. Make a tent out of a blanket and chair. um go for lots of walks.

Try theseI've done a few of them and DD seems to love them.
We've been home a lot the past week with illness as well, DD loves playing with household stuff she's into the contents of my kitchen cupboards in a big way I let her do what she wants with my plastic and baking stuff.
She prefers playing with that to any baby toys I've got her.

GREAT link! Only just got into the jolly jumper today, had to modify a doorway to fit it, had him in front of a mirror, gloop under the feet is a GREAT idea, he loves splashing in things. Had him into the pots and pans already, have to say he was unimpressed (but can't sit up so i guess not all that exciting when he can't sit and bang them). Going to make the edible fingerpaint soon and let him go nuts with that as well.

What a cool site  Some of the 11-month old activities seem to 'old' for Jacob yet - he wouldn't grasp the concept of food being in a 'face' shape, and he might play with a dolly but he wouldn't change it's nappy - but others look like a lot of fun, I'll have to try them out.

Yeah i had to backtrack til like 4 months for Max but that just means more activities. AND it looks sunny today so we might even leave the house.

I made: 1 cup of cornflour, 4 teaspoons sugar, 3 cups water. Stir over a medium heat until thick enough. Be warned though nothing happens for maybe 5min and then all of a sudden WHAM thick. Seperate into jars and and add food colouring as desired. The blue stained DS's skin but it came out after 2 baths.
