I use the in wash stuff, two capfuls per load but I have a big machine.

One wash here too, I have an 8kg washer (I *think* - it's huge at any rate) so clothes and nappies all go in together on cold wash, I use Dettol with every wash cycle. And every now and then I do a hot wash, but that's pretty rare.
stupid question - what does the dettol do?? I mean, is it just as an anti-bac treatment or does it have other mysterious talents???
It's just that I read somewhere that adding a capful of white vinegar to the load (in the fabric conditioner bit) softens all the clothes and stops detergent build-up, so wondered if dettol did something similar...
I bit dettol comes out smelling better than vinegar though!

I have also read that vinegar isn't good for PUL if used regularly. I use a cap of Dettol once a week and I just find it helps keep the nappies fresh, plus it's nice to know that it's killing any bugs that may be lurking
